India was ranking the world’s diabetes capital as on 2008. But the position was taken over by China, the new diabetes capital. The most populated country of the world has 92.4 million diabetics. The count of diabetes patients was double than that was estimated earlier. There is a chance of some 150 million Chinese being affected by diabetes.

International diabetes federation IDF reported in October 2009 that China had 43.2 million diabetes. IDF reported in the same year that India had 50.8 million diabetics. The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) sampled a report recently. One in ten Chinese has diabetes and 16 % people in China are developing symptoms of Diabetes.

The population of China told 50 million men and 42 million women already have diabetes. Most of the people in China are undiagnosed by the diabetes itself. The IDF expected a significance growth in India but China showed development. IDF did the global spread of diabetes recently and 1 in 8 citizens in rural China had diabetes.
