As flood runs over the farms of Australia many farmers are facing a loss of multi million dollars. The flood crisis continuing in Australia and farmers are facing the weather fury due to the bad weather. Farming business in Australia has high expenditure with very less margins and now many farmers will give up farming. The farmers feel that insurance which is present will however not cover the complete losses and there is a need of government assistance.
The disaster will be providing about $25,000and a low interest loans will be giving about $2,50,000. The compensation which will be paid is just a fraction to cover up a loss recovered stated the farmers who acquired the losses. Farmers are trying to get rid of the old debts and now the farmers will have to take new debt to recover from the flood crisis. The weather of Australia has even fueled for the future intensive agriculture as the continent becoming drier.
Most of the farmers may leave their farms and the threat will be for the longer term caused due to the floods. Environmental scientists Chris Cocklin who is the vice chancellor and James Cook University in Queensland reported. More than a decade the heavy rains had started late last year and now has turned into a drought itself. The irrigated system in eastern Australia Murray Darling Basin is one of the affected flood area agriculture plays important role. The climate change cannot only be blamed over the floods caused but the reason may be the Pacific weather stated Cocklin.
