The US administration has failed miserably in the last seven years in bringing Afghanistan under total control, and even today in spite of massive US military presence, US is losing soldiers at the hands of the Afghan terrorists.
The US government cannot afford to keep on continuing with their current Afghanistan policy, nor can it afford to pull out totally out of Afghanistan. Total pullout might make things far easier for the terrorists to plan and execute major terrorist attacks on US and their allies , at will.
So, if we go by history, we can expect US to plan for a massive final assault much to the surprise and shock for the entire world.
