Quite a few Republican members are worried these days due to the failure to pass the Auto bailout plan in the senate. They feel that democratic vote base in the unions will drastically come down and pave the way for democratic dominance in the coming years, which they cannot afford.
This is good news for Obama and his party since they can gain more leg room into these republican dominated unions henceforth with ease.
