Troops has been sent by SriLanka to to rescue the people in the capital Colombo who have started fleeing their homes. On Thursday the SriLanka capital Colombo was was hit by the heaviest rain which caused a huge flood. The heavy floods is due to the heavy rains which was ever since the past 18 years in SriLanka. The flood into the city has forced up to 3,00,000 people vacate their homes and their town in SriLanka.

The lightening which strikes one man and killed him on the spot and the flood caused a lot of problems. A woman was injured when the house of the woman collapsed on her reported the disaster management officials. There has been some 12 temporary shelters being set up by the authorities in and around the Colombo city. The victims have been accommodated in the temporary shelters as the flood hit the Colombo city leaving many homeless.

The flood even affected the national assembly which forced the parliamentary speaker to inspect the building using a boat. The MPs due to the floods were later ferried over the vehicles of the military for a five minute session. The session was held in darkness where some six pieces under the legislation under the bipartisan agreement. The floodwater had driven some 250,000 to 300,000 people from their home and left them homeless informed Disaster management.
