A key pipeline that transports most of the gas from Turkmenistan to Russia was affected by a huge blast, caused due to sudden increase in the pressure.  The abnormal increase in the pipeline pressure is blamed by Turkmenistan, on Russian energy giant, Gazprom, which is said to have reduced their gas intake on a very short notice.

The repair work is going on in full swing, because Gas exports are the key income resource for Turkmenistan.
