Normally Russia will go the exact opposite way of American stand on any issue ever since the cold war days. Russians were totally against the Iraq invasion for instance. but to the surprise of the entire world, especially to the surprise of India, Russia today urged India to go ahead and sign the civilian Nuclear pact with US. This in indeed expected to help the coalition government to put pressure on the Communist parties who have been the hurdle in signing the deal.
