In the election campaign, Barack Obama was vehemently opposing sending more US troops to Iraq and Afghanistan. And that was the time when he had no power. Exactly a year later, after becoming the US President, Obama has been forced to take an absolutely opposite position i.e, sending in more US troops to Afghanistan.
He has approved to send another 30000 US troops to Afghanistan over the next few weeks, to support the struggling US and NATO forces in the troubled region. This could help US to reduce the losses it has been facing at the hands of the terrorists to some extent. How far this move would help in breaking the terrorist network, nobody knows.
