The US government is running out of time for getting the parliamentary approval . The governmental functions will come to a halt from next week if the Obama administration is not able to get the US senate approval today.
With the Democrats not holding majority on their own in the senate, it is becoming increasingly difficult for the government to convince the Republicans on every governmental action. So expect more problems in the offing for Obama which eventually may pull down the growth rate of US recovery in the medium term.

It is interesting to note that Obama is now planning to run for another term as President of US, which may not be easy.
