The disaster happened on Tuesday when the routine domestic flight breaked. The jet was carrying 100 passengers out of which 70 where injured in the incident. The flight was broke apart while on landing which injured many people. Merpati airline which bounced off the tarmac at the domestic airport of Manokwari.

The Boeing 737 hurdled into the trees and fell into a shallow river in west Papua. The report was released by the director general of civil aviation Herry Bhakthi Singayuda.The tail strip of the flight was in the river about 200 meters from the landing strip. The crash happened mainly due to the fog and heavy rain said the report.

Plane was being flying from Sorong to Manokwarri at a speed of 340km.The trees smashed the left wing of the flight, which was end of the runway. The fuselage was seen to be completely separated from the cockpit. Many passengers were full of tension and some even cried out for help.

The plane was flying smoothly till the runway sudden the skid started resulting in the crash. In the last one year there has been an increase in number of flight accidents across the globe.
