The Indian government lead by the congress party survived the trust vote this week amidst charges from opposition that crores of rupees were offered to Members of Parliament of opposition parties to make them vote against their party whip, or to abstain from voting. This resulted in the party winning the confidence vote by a neat margin of over 20 votes. Now the realigned coalition will have another six months time to set the house in order, so that they can face the election in a better note.
