The second one day match between India and Australia was held in Nagpur city in India yesterday, and the Australian team was looking confident at the beginning of the match, as usual. And the Australian captain Ricky Ponting indeed had the guts to ask the Indian team to bat first, in spite of winning the toss.
The Indian batting line up was able to take on the weak Aussie bowling right from the beginning, and they made their highest ever total against Australia , of 354 runs. Chasing that mammoth total, as expected, the Australian team ended up scoring just 255 runs and lost the match by a neat 99 runs. The Australian team has to really work hard in getting back to winning form against the Indian team, which is slowly limping back to normalcy. The winning of the Indian team has come in spite of weak performance by Yuvraj Singh with the bat, and Harbajan Singh with the ball. And if they too start contributing in the next match, then the going might be tough for Australia.
Ricky Ponting happens to the weakest captain Australia has ever seen, because he has already lost to India, New Zealand, England and Sri Lankan team.
