Three decades ago, we had only one form of cricket around the world i.e, Test cricket which used to span over five days, and there was no bowling or batting restricting. It was really a way of TESTING the cricketing abilities of the teams involved. Since the 1980’s , Test cricket took the back seat and paved the way for one day cricket, wherein each team used to play for 50 overs each, with restrictions on number of overs per bowler. Now from 2007, further short form has come to play i.e Twenty-Twenty format, wherein each team plays only 20 overs each and the entire game will be over in three hours time. There are bowling restrictions in this format also.
