The second largest UK company British Petroleum posted a record profit of over 10 billion for the september 2008 quarter due to the record high crude oil prices. The profits are over 140% higher than the year ago figures. This is coming at a time when almost all the major players in all other industries are reporting flat growth or degrowth.
