The leakage of the Maconda well beneath the Gulf of Mexico seabed has been closed a month back, but the British Petroleum company continues to lose money on a daily basis towards the disaster.
The cumulative money paid by the company towards various spill related costs have already crossed the eight billion dollars mark and the company is now expecting further claims to start slowing down in the coming months.
By the end of October or by November, there will be more clarity on the overall expected cost to the company. Experts opine that the total cost could be well below the 20 billion dollars committed by the company for related costs and claims.
