US based security firm,Lookout describes that as many as 80 Google Android wallpaper applications were just collecting the phone numbers,personal details and subscriber numbers. The applications had some advantage like dialed home for some of the developers who sent some unencrypted sensitive data to the remote servers.

The name one of the apps which sent that sensitive data Jackeey Wallpaper. The Jackeey wallpaper was sown loaded millions of times and most of them were data sent back to china. The report of the software in detail came in The Telegraph recently. The details about this was given by Kevin Ma Haffey who is a Lookout Chief technology officer.

The findings of Lookout was presented to Black Hat security conference. The conference between the two security firms was held in Las Vegand s earlier this week. The Jackeey Wallpaper app even provided some themed Star wars a my little pony wallpaper recently. The user’s id3entity number and user’s phone number was given to the server in China. The details however has no evidence and is just collected for malicious purposes Google said and disposed it.
