A telephone survey conducted among 855 adults showed the effect of recession in a big way. Many Americans have become alert and spending their money and valuable time on necessary things. Less time was spent on non-essentials avoiding the unnecessary purchases in stores and through online resources also.

A larger proportion of people in America are working for longer hours. Much time is spent on hobbies such as gardening, yoga, cooking reading, watching television. The study also showed the more time was spent on religious and civic activities. The movie attendance had reduced to 5% and sales of Disney products reduced to 3%. The people aim behind all these sacrifices is pure economic necessity.
The survey is also concluding that the future for Americans is indeed bright and lovely.
