The current downturn in Automobile sales is all set to kill over 1100 US automobile dealers in the coming weeks. General Motors, which is sinking due to crash in sales of cars in the last one year, has already sent out letters to over 1100 of it’s dealers to close down their business.

This is expected to result in job loss for over 5000 people directly, apart from indirect job losses.  General Motors is expected to complete their talks with the creditors and worker’s unions over the next few weeks, and submit a revamp plan to the US government.

Whether General Motors also will go for a bankruptcy filing like Chrysler, only time will tell.
